What is soul care?
The Hebrew word for soul Nephesh refers to the entire living person including desires, emotions, spirit, body - all aspects of what it is to be a created being. I chose this comprehensive term for my practice because I delight to engage with my clients in holistic care in the ways they most need. You can read below about the various styles of soul care I integrate: coaching, healing prayer (Immanuel Approach), somatic awareness, and Internal Family Systerms (IFS). All sessions are client-driven, and we can lean into whichever modalities of care you prefer.

Coaching
Reflective listening, insightful questions to promote growth. Many people think of coaching as advice giving. Sometimes I will offer a resource or an insight to see how it lands, but most of coaching is helping you uncover more of your own inner wisdom and divine connection. I'm trained by the International Coaching Federation/Moving the Human Spirit.
Immanuel Approach
Gently facilitated connection with Jesus. I'm trained by The Immanuel Institute and Alive and Well. Here's an intro video by Christian psychiatrist Karl Lehman, the founder
Immanuel Approach Prayer.
Somatic Awareness
Nervous system regulation and self-attunement skills to increase emobodied living, tools to process emotions and memories effectively through the body, mind, and spirit in integrated ways.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS uses parts language such as "A part of me feels/thinks.....and another part of me feels/thinks...." to clarify our inner dialogues and grow into greater integration. I completed the Stepping Stones IFS training course with IFSCA and apply IFS as a primary framework for understanding the soul that integrates well with my Christian faith. See the book Boundaries of the Soul for more on this topic.
Growth Mindset
Further up and further in!
I'm fascinated by the ever-increasing body of research on neuroplasticity and contemplative practices. No matter our history or current struggles, we all can continue to grow, mature, and develop in every area of our lives.
Although past wounds, disappointments, current suffering, and our inner critics can often hold us back and cause us to get stuck, with the right support, I truly believe it's possible and indeed the Lord's plan for all of us to not just survive but thrive in all areas of life. I would love to chat and see if my style of soul care is a fit what what you're needing in this season of your life.

I was raised in a church culture of natural, mutual soul care in loving community. As a teen and young adult,I served on prayer ministry teams, led small groups, and learned through structured trainings and living life together how to help others connect with themselves, God, and one another more deeply.
During my years as a public school teacher, homeschool educator, non-profit program manager, and community and church volunteer, I continued to take courses on various types of soul care including memory work and continued to offer mentoring and prayer ministry, lead multiple courses, retreats, and small groups. Since early 2022, I've been doing consistent one-on-one sessions for clients intergrrating these various modalities and will continue learning and growing in the years to come.
All are invited to join my Facebook group for social learning and mutual support.
